Thai-Riffic!

Book Cover Book Cover Book Update As I have been reading the book Thai-Riffic, I have   enjoyed it so much and recommend you all read this   amazing tale.  So far, I have been introduced to Albert and his brother   Kitchai and their parents, Mr Roberts the man who hates   junk mail, Kate, Hayley and Rajiv his friends, as well as   Mr Winfree his teacher.  I really enjoy this book because it is intriguing and entertaining. Also some of the comics and humorous features are really well written. I can't fault this book.  I don't seem to have any puzzles and as you have just read and seen I really like this book, and I must say I have to congratulate this author on his way of writing. I hope to enjoy and read on from where I am up to.                                       Blogger Ou...

Feelings about Mao's last dancer

While reading Mao's Last Dancer, I felt like I wanted to read more because it was exciting. I was reading the life of a peasant in China who get's the opportunity of a lifetime to dance at the Beijing Dance academy, but does not want to take it because he wants to stay at home with his niang and dia. A pattern I have found is that the author has little events leading up to a really detailed and factual climax in each chapter. This is usually a bad thing that leaves the reader shocked and wanting to read this book again and again until they figure out what ha actually happen and understand it so much that if there is another book they know what will be in it. But some parts can be heart-warming like when Li Cunxin works and works towards his dream because he wants to make china, his family and especially his loving, caring but poor parents. In my opinion i think anyone that has high imagination and a high context of knowledge should reads this book.

Samurai Kids- The White Crane

In the book, Samurai Kids- The White, Crane Sandy Fussell has used lots of descriptive language that leaves the reader wanting more. She uses descriptive language which makes the reader have a better understanding of the scene and what the character goes through. Sandy makes the scene very detailed, she makes the smallest things enjoyable such as 'They grey wolf is a shape-shifter.' Grandfather rolled his eyes as he told the story and my stomach somersaulted nervously' - From the book Samurai Kids- The White Crane

It highlights the ups and downs of his life and it teaches us to never give up no matter who you are and were you live. This story is based in China, Qingdao were everyone is poor and has barely enough money to survive. Li Cunxin is a young boy who has 7 siblings. His Niang (mum) and Dia (dad) spend most of their times in the fields harvesting Yams. But barely anyone can afford such fresh products, so they wait until the Yams dry out and eat the dried Yams that get stuck in your throats and need to be washed down by lots of water. Living conditions are some of the worst you can ever see, every family gets a bit of coal, oil, eggs and basic needs a month, and has to survive on these during all of winter. Cunxin's Niang does all of the washing, sewing, cooking and working and has 7 sons to top it all off. This family can barely afford anything and cannot put enough food on the table for their ...
