Who Am I? by Anita Heiss  Oisin things I like about this book is that is based on how aboriginals were treated back in 1900 and they were treated pretty bad. They were treated badly because they were just a different colour. One thing I hate about this book is that that Mary is always saying eh and it just gets so annoying after awhile and it is repeated through out the book and you can probably imagine how annoying it gets. h

weirdo 10

Dear Anh Do, I liked the book weirdo because it was funny and I like how you made the new story about weirdo. My favourite part in the book is when the walk around in circles and they couldn't find the treasurer  then all the bubbles exploded inside the house and went everywhere. Sincerely Keenen,
Weirdo I liked Weirdo because it's funny and it's got a lot of adventure in it.I liked the part were Weirdo and his friends had to do the chores and get there Mum a Mothers day gift. But I disliked sometimes when there was suspicion and I also think there could of been more themes or exciting moments.

'Who Am I' thoughts and feelings

Who Am I  Written by Anita Heiss This past term I have been reading a book called 'Who am I' written by Anita Heiss. This book is written so well you almost think it's a true story but it's not. Anita Heiss is a talented and imaginative author that knows how to write. I like 'Who am I' because you really pretend you are in Mary's shoes and it is written in such detailed, amazing language that even though I will never actually feel like Mary does, I can imagine how she feels. The book itself is so engrossing and you just don't want to put it down or stop reading it. I feel sorry for Mary because she is always getting teased, picked on, and blamed for things she didn't do e.g when Ms Foster's bag gets stolen, everyone (even Mary's own foster parents) blames her for stealing the bag even though Mary is pleading and crying. Overall it is an awesome book and I really can't see any faults in the author's writing or in the realism...

My thoughts on Who Am I

Reading "Who am I?" has actually informed me about the struggles Aboriginal people had in eyes of white society during the 1900s. Some features I was really fond of are: Mary's new foster family had accepted her and treated her like their other children Pa B's typical Aussie characteristics At one point Sophie and Mary treated each other like actual, true, blooded sisters Dot was very open to Mary and made Mary her own niece/daughter  Sam being that "brother who has a big ego and hates everyone else but himself" Ma B being a real Mother and helping Mary every time it's needed The very unexpected, hypocritical moment where Mary questioned the long stare given by Bully Johnny Jones and if he might like Mary secretly Some events I felt were disappointing or i naturally disliked are: Johnny Jones being the antagonist he is in the book Sam's mean comments just because Mary is an Aborigional the Burkes saying she's supposed to ...

Likes and Dislikes of Who Am I?

Part of reading the book "Who Am I?" by Anita Heiss has opened my eyes of how aboriginal people have been treated before and how different coloured aboriginals are treated very differently. Throughout my journey in reading Who Am I? I have encountered many likes and dislikes of the book some of these likes and dislikes are: LIKES: -That when Mary was at the Home with Matron Rose she wasn't treated differently -That Dot was there for Mary through thick and thin -That Ma B and Pa B accepted Mary as one of their own -Sophie and Mary are starting to act like sisters -Everyone is starting to except Mary as an aboriginal -Toni likes Mary for who she is and doesn't judge her because of her culture -Everyone is starting to trust Mary more after an incident that happened during school -That Sophie and Mary both hate their 'brother' -The story is based in Sydney -Mary's foster family are typical Aussies: Blond hair, blue eyes but they still except Mary ...

Chelsea's Snowy Book Summary

Snowy   i like how the story relate to me like how Eva move from Bondi to the Snowy Mountain, and is totally new to the snowy school, the new big house, to the new people she met. it's really interesting to read all the funny things she is experiencing in the book, like the drama.

Snowy likes and dislikes Isla Giron

Snowy by Siobhan McHugh  I have enjoyed the drama and the setting of this book. I feel that writing in a diary is pretty rare now a days because we all have technology and we forget that writing is apart of our ancestors and instead of picking up a book we pick up a phone. I enjoy reading diaries because we can see what their life is like and we can see what the past is. I like the setting because it is more and more less realistic compared to today's snowy mountains because it doesn't snow almost everyday instead only close to winter or in winter. Have a lovely day ~ Isla Giron

plague and fed def by geshua

I predict that Plagues and federation is about the time when the deadly plague was spreading across Australia causing random deaths around the country. But honestly i don't know about the federation. But just seeing the word plague is already telling me there is a decease and people are gonna die.
Prediction  I believe Plagues and Federation is about the difficulties of federation and struggles people experienced back in 1900s were federation began.
My name is Syrus and I feel that Plagues and Federation is about the struggles of the people in the process of the federation and that there will be a plague that affects the people.
This term, I received a book called Plagues and Federation .  I predict it will be about the life of people, prior to the federation in 1901. It may tell us about how they lived in terms of rules and rights and what they were capable of doing at the time. I believe the book will be based, in the time of the 1800's and will have terms relating to that subject.
