My thoughts on Who Am I

Reading "Who am I?" has actually informed me about the struggles Aboriginal people had in eyes of white society during the 1900s.

Some features I was really fond of are:

  • Mary's new foster family had accepted her and treated her like their other children
  • Pa B's typical Aussie characteristics
  • At one point Sophie and Mary treated each other like actual, true, blooded sisters
  • Dot was very open to Mary and made Mary her own niece/daughter 
  • Sam being that "brother who has a big ego and hates everyone else but himself"
  • Ma B being a real Mother and helping Mary every time it's needed
  • The very unexpected, hypocritical moment where Mary questioned the long stare given by Bully Johnny Jones and if he might like Mary secretly

Some events I felt were disappointing or i naturally disliked are:

  • Johnny Jones being the antagonist he is in the book
  • Sam's mean comments just because Mary is an Aborigional
  • the Burkes saying she's supposed to forget and leave her heritage and past away and now consider herself a white

Samurai Kids Isla

I am up to page 146 in this descriptive, enduring book. Samurai Kids has many funny parts and unpredictable events, for example Taji is blind but he somehow beat Niya, a boy missing a leg. Taji usually beats the crew because he doesn't have the gift of sight he can hear very deeply, even a small tip toe step.

So far i am up to page 7 in the book Holes. This book was written by a spectacular author called Bloomsbury.I suggest this book for ages 9+ as it has complicated words and high vocabulary.So far i am really interested in continuing this book and cant wait to finish it.
